Hi,there it’s been 4 months since I finished reading this extraordinary book by John Green. But I never remember to write a review about it until today.Yeah,I’ve been so busy since I entered high school and I haven’t got so much time for my blogs because of it.Bah.Tomorrow I still have to take my mandarin examination unfortunately.I need something to clear up my mind, ummm and here I’m.Busy, bored, tired, and super-exhausted.Sorry for making you reading this.I think this is enough uff, let’s start then…
“Some infinities are bigger than other infinities.”-Peter Van Houten
Hazel Grace had had a problem with her lungs since she was 13.Miracles happened in her life. She still survive though her lungs were no more functional. One day,Hazel went to a church and join a community called The Heart Of Jesus. She met a guy named Augustus Waters there that day.Augustus suffered Osteosarcoma.Hazel and Augustus fell in love.Augustus’ Osteosarcoma got worse and worse and worse until finaly he couldn’t hold it any more.Augustus died at the end of the story and at his funeral,Hazel gave a speech, she said;“I can’t talk about our love story, so I will talk about math. I am not a mathematician, but I know this: There are infinite numbers between 0 and 1. There’s .1 and .12 and .112 and an infinite collection of others. Of course, thereis a bigger infinite set of numbers between 0 and 2, or between 0 and a million. Some infinities are bigger than other infinities. A writer weused to like taught us that. There are days, many of them, when I resent the size of my unbounded set. I want more numbers than I’m likely to get, and God, I want more numbers for Augustus Waters than he got. But, Gus, my love, I cannot tell you how thankful I am for our little infinity. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. You gave me a forever within the numbered days, and I’m grateful.”
Well,I admit that the plot is predictable and not really surprised me but the topic of this book is just unusual .Still, I think it’s exiting to read it though.John Green always chooses a simple but meaningful topic for his novel.I also love the characters( especially Hazel) and the moral value of this book.
I give 4 from 5 stars for this novel!
